And these You have laid up in Your heart, I know that this was with You:
For He knows the way that I take. When He has tried me, I would come forth as gold.
See, I go forward, but He is not; and backward, but I do not perceive Him;
And when He is silent, who would then condemn? And when He hides His face, who then sees Him, whether it is against a nation or a man alone?
Although you say you do not see Him, yet right-ruling is before Him, and you wait for Him.
Look, He goes by me, and I do not see; and He moves past, but I do not discern Him.
How long, O יהוה, would You be hidden? Would Your wrath burn like fire forever?
Truly You are Ěl, who hide Yourself, O Elohim of Yisra’ĕl, Saviour!
And I shall wait on יהוה, who hides His face from the house of Ya‛aqoḇ. And I shall look for Him.
