“For I have not dwelt in a house since the time that I brought the children of Yisra’ĕl up from Mitsrayim, even to this day, but have moved about in a Tent and in a Dwelling Place.
He spread a cloud for a covering, And fire to give light in the night.
And led them with the cloud by day, And all the night with a light of fire.
And יהוה went before them by day in a column of cloud to lead the way, and by night in a column of fire to give them light, so as to go by day and night.
The column of cloud did not cease by day, nor the column of fire by night, before the people.
And the cloud of יהוה was above them by day when they went out from the camp.
They do not leave of it until morning, and they do not break a bone of it. According to all the laws of the Pĕsaḥ they perform it.
And on the day that the Dwelling Place was raised up, the cloud covered the Dwelling Place, the Tent of the Witness. From evening until morning it was above the Dwelling Place like the appearance of fire.
Thus it was continually: the cloud covered it by day, and the appearance of fire by night.
