And Sheḵanyah son of Yeḥi’ĕl, one of the sons of Olam, spoke up and said to Ezra, “We have trespassed against our Elohim, and have taken foreign women from the peoples of the land. And now there is expectancy in Yisra’ĕl concerning this.


And Ezra rose, and made the leaders of the priests, the Lĕwites, and all Yisra’ĕl, to swear to do according to this word. And they swore.


And He led them on safely, And they did not fear, But the sea covered their enemies.


“Now listen to my voice. Let me counsel you and Elohim be with you: Stand before Elohim for the people, and you shall bring the matters to Elohim.


“If you do this word, and Elohim shall command you, then you shall be able to stand and all this people also go to their place in peace.”


And Mosheh chose able men out of all Yisra’ĕl, and made them heads over the people: rulers of thousands, rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens.


The wise one hears and increases learning, And the understanding one gets wise counsel,


And an eye is unable to say to the hand, “I have no need of you,” or again the head to the feet, “I have no need of you.”


“And I spoke to you at that time, saying, ‘I am unable to bear you by myself.
