“Do you know the time when the wild mountain goats bear young? Or do you observe when the deer gives birth?


Your sons have fainted, they lie at the head of all the streets, like a gazelle in a net. They are filled with the wrath of יהוה, the rebuke of your Elohim.


“Only, whatever your being desires you shall slaughter and eat, according to the blessing of יהוה your Elohim which He has given you, within all your gates. The unclean and the clean do eat of it, of the gazelle and the deer alike.


“Only, as the gazelle and the deer are eaten, so you are to eat of it. The unclean and the clean alike eat of it.


These are the living creatures which you do eat: ox, sheep, and goat,”


“And every beast that has a split hoof divided in two, chewing the cud, among the beasts, you do eat.
