“And the high places of Yitsḥaq shall be laid waste, and the set-apart places of Yisra’ĕl shall be destroyed. And I shall rise with the sword against the house of Yaroḇ‛am.”

And Yisra’ĕl set out with all that he had, and came to Be’ĕrsheḇa, and slaughtered slaughterings to the Elohim of his father Yitsḥaq.


And he did evil in the eyes of יהוה. He did not turn away from all the sins of Yaroḇ‛am son of Neḇat, who had made Yisra’ĕl sin.


For a little while Your set-apart people possessed it – our adversaries have trodden down Your set-apart place.


We are ashamed because we have heard reproach. Shame has covered our faces, for strangers have come into the set-apart places of the House of יהוה.


“And you shall say, ‘O mountains of Yisra’ĕl, hear the word of the Master יהוה!’ Thus said the Master יהוה to the mountains, to the hills, to the ravines, and to the valleys, “Look, I Myself am bringing a sword against you, and I shall destroy your high places.


And the high places of Awen, the sin of Yisra’ĕl, shall be destroyed, thorn and thistle come up on their slaughter-places. And they shall say to the mountains, “Cover us!” and to the hills, “Fall on us!”


“For in the day I visit Yisra’ĕl for their transgressions, I shall also punish concerning the slaughter-places of Bĕyth Ěl. And the horns of the slaughter-place shall be broken, and they shall fall to the ground.


but do not seek Bĕyth Ěl, nor enter Gilgal, nor pass over to Be’ĕrsheḇa. For Gilgal shall certainly go into exile, and Bĕyth Ěl become a non-entity.


for this is what Amos said, ‘Yaroḇ‛am shall die by the sword, and Yisra’ĕl certainly be exiled from their own land.’ ”


but do not prophesy any more at Bĕyth Ěl, for it is the sovereign’s set-apart place and it is the house of the reign.”


those swearing by the guilt of Shomeron, who say, ‘As your mighty one lives, O Dan!’ and, ‘As the way of Be’ĕrsheḇa lives!’ And they shall fall and never rise again.”


I saw יהוה standing by the slaughter-place, and He said, “Strike the column head, so that the thresholds shake, and break them off by the head, all of them. And the last of them I kill with the sword. Not one of them fleeing gets away, and not one fugitive of them escapes.


All this is for the transgression of Ya‛aqoḇ and for the sins of the house of Yisra’ĕl. What is the transgression of Ya‛aqoḇ? Is it not Shomeron? And what are the high places of Yehuḏah? Are they not Yerushalayim?
