2 Kings 15:30 - The Scriptures 2009

And Hoshĕa son of Ělah led a conspiracy against Peqaḥ son of Remalyahu, and struck him, and killed him, and reigned in his place in the twentieth year of Yotham son of Uzziyah.

And Peqaḥ son of Remalyahu, a chief officer of his, conspired against him and struck him in Shomeron, in the high place of the sovereign’s house, along with Argoḇ and Aryĕh, and with him were fifty men of Gil‛aḏ. So he killed him and reigned in his place.


In the days of Peqaḥ sovereign of Yisra’ĕl, Tiḡlath-Pileser sovereign of Ashshur came and took Iyon, and Aḇĕl Bĕyth Ma‛aḵah, and Yanowaḥ, and Qeḏesh, and Ḥatsor, and Gil‛aḏ, and Galil, all the land of Naphtali, and took them into exile to Ashshur.


And the rest of the acts of Peqaḥ, and all that he did, see, they are written in the book of the annals of the sovereigns of Yisra’ĕl.


In the seventeenth year of Peqaḥ son of Remalyahu, Aḥaz son of Yotham, sovereign of Yehuḏah, began to reign.


In the twelfth year of Aḥaz sovereign of Yehuḏah, Hoshĕa son of Ělah began to reign over Yisra’ĕl in Shomeron, for nine years.


At that time Sovereign Aḥaz sent to the sovereigns of Ashshur to help him.


“For before the child knows to refuse evil and choose the good, the land that you dread is to be forsaken by both her sovereigns.


“Inasmuch as these people refused the waters of Shiloaḥ that flow softly, and rejoice in Retsin and in Remalyahu’s son;


Thus it shall be done to you, O Bĕyth Ěl, because of the evil of your wickedness. At dawn the sovereign of Yisra’ĕl is completely cut off!


For now they say, “We have no sovereign, because we did not fear יהוה. What would the sovereign do for us?”


Shomeron is cut off, her sovereign is like a twig on the surface of the water.
