And these are the men whom Dawiḏ appointed over the service of song in the House of יהוה, after the ark came to rest.
And these are the ones who stood with their sons: Of the sons of the Qehathites were Hĕman the singer, son of Yo’ĕl, son of Shemu’ĕl,
And these were the singers, heads of the fathers’ houses of the Lĕwites, in the rooms, and were exempted from other duties, for they were employed in that work day and night.
And Ḥizqiyahu appointed the divisions of the priests and of the Lĕwites according to their divisions, each according to his service of the priests and Lĕwites for ascending offerings and peace offerings, to serve and to give thanks, and to praise in the gates of the camp of יהוה.
And the singers, the sons of Asaph, were in their places, according to the command of Dawiḏ, and Asaph, and Hĕman, and Yeḏuthun the seer of the sovereign. And the gatekeepers at each gate did not have to leave their position, because their brothers the Lĕwites prepared for them.
And they appointed the priests to their divisions and the Lĕwites to their divisions, over the service of Elah in Yerushalayim, as it is written in the Book of Mosheh.
And on the outside of the inner gate were the rooms for the singers in the inner courtyard, one at the side of the north gate and facing south, and the other at the side of the south gate facing north.
