So Raḥĕl died and was buried on the way to Ephrath, that is Bĕyth Leḥem.
These were the descendants of Kalĕḇ: The sons of Ḥur, the first-born of Ephrathah: Shoḇal the father of Qiryath Ye‛arim,
And Shoḇal the father of Qiryath Ye‛arim had descendants: Haro’eh, half of the Menuḥothites.
and Penu’ĕl was the father of Geḏor, and Ězer was the father of Ḥushah. These were the sons of Ḥur, the first-born of Ephrathah the father of Bĕyth Leḥem.
And יהושע having been born in Bĕyth Leḥem of Yehuḏah in the days of Herodes the sovereign, see, Magi from the east came to Yerushalayim,
“But you, Bĕyth Leḥem, in the land of Yehuḏah, you are by no means least among the rulers of Yehuḏah, for out of you shall come a Ruler who shall shepherd My people Yisra’ĕl. ’ ”
“Did not the Scripture say that the Messiah comes from the seed of Dawiḏ and from the village of Bĕyth Leḥem, where Dawiḏ was?”
And it came to be, in the days when the rulers ruled, that there was a scarcity of food in the land. And a man from Bĕyth Leḥem, Yehuḏah, went to sojourn in the fields of Mo’aḇ, he and his wife and his two sons.
And both of them went until they came to Bĕyth Leḥem. And it came to be, when they had come to Bĕyth Leḥem, that all the city was moved because of them, and they said, “Is this Na‛omi?”
And see, Bo‛az had come from Bĕyth Leḥem, and said to the reapers, “יהוה be with you!” And they answered him, “יהוה bless you!”
And all the people who were at the gate, and the elders, said, “Witnesses! יהוה make the woman who is coming to your house as Raḥĕl and as Lĕ’ah, the two who built the house of Yisra’ĕl. And prove your worth in Ephrathah and proclaim the Name in Bĕyth Leḥem.
