Thou gavest thy good Spirit to instruct them, and didst not withhold thy manna from their mouth, and gavest them water for their thirst.
They asked, and he brought quails, and gave them bread from heaven in abundance.
And the people of Israel ate the manna forty years, till they came to a habitable land; they ate the manna, till they came to the border of the land of Canaan.
Jesus then said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, it was not Moses who gave you the bread from heaven; my Father gives you the true bread from heaven.
This is the bread which came down from heaven, not such as the fathers ate and died; he who eats this bread will live for ever.”
