“I have heard many such things; miserable comforters are you all.

I’ve heard many things like these. All of you are sorry comforters.
I have often heard such things; you are all aggravating comforters.
I have often heard such things as these: you are all troublesome comforters.
Then Job answered:
How then will you comfort me with empty nothings? There is nothing left of your answers but falsehood.”
How forceful are honest words! But what does reproof from you reprove?
Can that which is tasteless be eaten without salt, or is there any taste in the slime of the purslane?
Insults have broken my heart, so that I am in despair. I looked for pity, but there was none; and for comforters, but I found none.
For they persecute him whom thou hast smitten, and him whom thou hast wounded, they afflict still more.
