However, because you treated  the Lord with such contempt in this matter, the son born to you will die.’


So now what have I here’ – this is the  Lord’s declaration – ‘that my people are taken away for nothing? Its rulers wail’ – this is the  Lord’s declaration – ‘and my name is continually blasphemed all day long.

to be self-controlled, pure, workers at home, kind, and in submission  to their husbands, so that God’s word  will not be slandered.


Your message is to be sound beyond reproach,  so that any opponent will be ashamed, because he doesn’t have anything bad to say about us.


Many will follow their depraved ways, and the way of truth will be maligned because of them.
