If he doesn’t pay attention to them, tell the church.   , If he doesn’t pay attention even to the church, let him be like a Gentile and a tax collector to you.


Among them were Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James and Joseph, and the mother of Zebedee’s sons.


As Jesus went on from there,  he saw a man named Matthew sitting at the tax office, and he said to him, ‘Follow me,’ and he got up and followed him.


There  were also women watching from a distance. Among them were Mary Magdalene,  Mary the mother of James the younger and of Joses, and Salome.


Then, passing by, he saw Levi  the son of Alphaeus sitting at the tax office,  and he said to him, ‘Follow me,’   and he got up and followed  him.

‘Two men went up to the temple to pray,   one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector.


The Pharisee was standing   and praying like this about himself:   “God, I thank you that I’m not like other people #– #greedy,   unrighteous,   adulterers,   or even like this tax collector.


‘But the tax collector, standing far off,   would not even raise his eyes to heaven   but kept striking his chest   and saying, “God, have mercy on me,   , a sinner! ”


There was a man named Zacchaeus who was a chief tax collector, and he was rich.


After this, Jesus went out and saw a tax collector named Levi sitting at the tax office,  and he said to him, ‘Follow me.’


‘How do you know me? ’ Nathanael asked. ‘Before Philip called you, when you were under the fig tree, I saw you,’ Jesus answered.


Then Thomas  (called ‘Twin’  ) said to his fellow disciples, ‘Let’s go too so that we may die with him.’


Judas  (not Iscariot) said to him, ‘Lord, how is it you’re going to reveal yourself to us and not to the world? ’


‘Lord,’ Thomas  said, ‘we don’t know where you’re going. How can we know the way? ’


Jesus said to him, ‘Have I been among you all this time and you do not know me, Philip? The one who has seen me has seen the Father.   How can you say, “Show us the Father”?


Simon Peter,  Thomas  (called ‘Twin’  ), Nathanael  from Cana of Galilee,  Zebedee’s  sons, and two others of his disciples were together.


When they arrived, they went to the room  upstairs where they were staying: Peter, John, James, Andrew, Philip, Thomas, Bartholomew, Matthew, James the son of Alphaeus, Simon the Zealot, and Judas the son of James.


Motioning to them with his hand  to be silent, he described to them how the Lord had brought him out of the prison. ‘Tell these things to James  and the brothers,’ he said, and he left and went to another place.


After they stopped speaking, James responded, ‘Brothers, listen to me.


The following day Paul went in with us to James, and all the elders were present.


But I didn’t see any of the other apostles except James,  the Lord’s brother.


When James,  Cephas,  , and John   #– #those recognised as pillars   #– #acknowledged the grace that had been given to me, they gave the right hand of fellowship to me and Barnabas, agreeing that we should go to the Gentiles and they to the circumcised.


James,  a servant of God  and of the Lord Jesus Christ: To the twelve tribes  dispersed abroad.  , Greetings.


Jude,  a servant of Jesus Christ and a brother of James: To those who are the called,  loved  , by God the Father and kept for Jesus Christ.
