When we came to the place where we lodged for the night and opened our bags of grain, each one’s silver was at the top of his bag!  It was the full amount of our silver, and we have brought it back with us.

Take twice as much silver with you. Return the silver that was returned to you in the top of your bags. Perhaps it was a mistake.


The men took this gift, double the amount of silver, and Benjamin. They immediately went down to Egypt and stood before Joseph.


They said, ‘My lord, we really did come down here the first time only to buy food.


We have brought additional silver with us to buy food. We don’t know who put our silver in the bags.’


We even brought back to you from the land of Canaan the silver we found at the top of our bags. How could we steal silver or gold from your master’s house?


Do not repay anyone evil for evil.  Give careful thought to do what is honourable  in everyone’s eyes.


Do not owe anyone anything, except to love one another, for the one who loves another has fulfilled the law.


Pray for us, for we are convinced that we have a clear conscience, wanting to conduct ourselves honourably in everything.


Keep your life free from the love of money. Be satisfied with what you have, for he himself has said, I will never leave you or abandon you.   ,


Conduct  yourselves honourably among the Gentiles,  so that when they slander you as evildoers, they will observe your good works and will glorify God on the day he visits.


Yet do this with gentleness and reverence, keeping a clear conscience,  so that when you are accused,  those who disparage your good conduct in Christ will be put to shame.
