From these descendants, the peoples of the coasts and islands spread out into their lands according to their clans in their nations, each with its own language.


Javan’s sons: Elishah, Tarshish, Kittim, and Rodanim.


A pronouncement  concerning Tyre: Wail, ships of Tarshish, for your haven has been destroyed. Word has reached them from the land of Cyprus.  ,


He said, ‘You will not celebrate any more, ravished young woman, daughter of Sidon. Get up and cross over to Cyprus   – even there you will have no rest! ’


‘ “Tarshish  was your trading partner because of your abundant wealth of every kind. They exchanged silver, iron, tin, and lead for your merchandise.


Ships of Tarshish  were the carriers for your goods. ‘ “So you became full and heavily loaded in the heart of the sea.


They made your oars of oaks from Bashan. They made your deck of cypress wood from the coasts of Cyprus, inlaid with ivory.


Your sail was made of fine embroidered linen from Egypt, and served as your banner. Your awning was of blue and purple fabric from the coasts of Elishah.


Ships of Kittim  , will come against him and, being intimidated, he will withdraw. Then he will rage against the holy covenant and take action. On his return, he will favour those who abandon the holy covenant.


Ships will come from the coast of Kittim; they will carry out raids against Asshur and Eber, but they too will come to destruction.
