People throughout all the tribes of Israel were arguing among themselves, saying, ‘The king rescued us from the grasp of our enemies,  and he saved us from the grasp of the Philistines,  but now he has fled from the land because of Absalom.


So the Israelites went up to Baal-perazim, and David defeated the Philistines there. Then David said, ‘Like a bursting flood, God has used me to burst out against my enemies.’ Therefore, they named that place The Lord Bursts Out.


For the Lord will rise up as he did at Mount Perazim. He will rise in wrath, as at the Valley of Gibeon, to do his work, his unexpected work, and to perform his task, his unfamiliar task.


You come out to save your people, to save your anointed. You crush the leader of the house of the wicked and strip him from foot  to neck. Selah
