Planned Parenthood: ‘There should be a Disney princess who has had an abortion’

On march 27, 2018, a Planned Parenthood affiliate in Pennsylvania recently drew criticism for tweeting that there should be a Disney princess who not only supports abortion, but who has had one.

According to LifeNews.com report, Planned Parenthood branch located in Keystone posted to Twitter:

“We need a Disney princess who’s had an abortion. We need a Disney princess who’s pro-choice.”

In the same tweet Planned Parenthood also wrote, “We need a disney princess who’s an undocumented immigrant. We need a disney princess who’s actually a union worker. We need a disney princess who’s trans.”

The Twitter post received ample criticism, even from those who identify as pro-choice. When it did not receive the kind of reaction they expected, they deleted it.

Planned Parenthood Keystone has not referenced the tweet or its deletion on its Twitter account as of the time of this writing, and neither it nor the national organization replied to the Wrap’s request for comment.

Micaiah Bilger, writer from LifeNews.com criticized the abortion provider for targeting young girls who are Disney fans with their extreme pro-choice agenda.

Bilger wrote: “Impressionable, idealistic little girls often adore the strength, bravery and compassion of the princesses displayed in Disney films. They dress like them, sing their songs, look up to them and imagine being them because they portray something good, something noble,”

“Planned Parenthood would utterly corrupt their idealistic young minds by pushing little girls to accept death and destruction in the name of ‘choice’ and ‘empowerment.’”

For its part, Disney has not introduced abortion themes into its children’s entertainment. It has, however, introduced pro-LGBT themes in recent years, including the preschool-targeted cartoon Doctor McStuffins and the 2017 remake ofBeauty and the Beast. Top members of Frozen’s production team have also expressed interest in making lead character Elsa a lesbian.
