According to a video of Twitter user Mikey Cee, the Statue of Liberty was struck five times in one day by lightning in the middle of an electrical storm in the heart of the city.
After it was closed due to the pandemic, the monument as a tourist site in the city reopened in the middle of the passage of the storm Hanna and in phase 4 of the reopening of the Big Apple.
With little attendance at the tourist monument, 20 people witnessed the lightning strike on the statue, which amazed the few who were there.
According to those attending the site at the moment, they explain an overwhelming loneliness when visiting the monument, in which there are no longer the same number of people as is usual due to the effects of the pandemic by Covid-19.
