“It was not God’s will,” says Neymar after Brazil’s elimination in Qatar 2022

The Qatar 2022 World Cup advances towards the moment of those teams that will play the final this year, and one of the great favorites, Brazil, was eliminated from that day, leaving the fans of the king of sports shocked.

“It was not God’s will,” says Neymar after Brazil’s elimination in Qatar 2022.

During the penalty shootout against Croatia, the Brazilian team was eliminated and their dreams of once again being able to reach the precious trophy, for which the feeling of sadness and defeat among the players was felt more than ever during the day; among those who felt the pain of the defeat was Neymar Jr.

Neymar, despite the tears seen on the field, decided to share his feelings on his social media, making several posts on Instagram, where he explained several points and also thanked the community of fans who support his team.

The soccer star said that he felt destroyed by the defeat obtained, of which he assured that “it will hurt for a long time.”

“I am psychologically destroyed. It was surely the defeat that hurt me the most, which caused me to be paralyzed for ten minutes after the match, after which I burst into tears without being able to stop . This is going to hurt for a very long time, unfortunately,” he wrote.

“We fought until the end. I’m proud of my partners because there was no shortage of commitment and dedication. This group deserved (to go further), we deserved it, BRAZIL deserved it… But it was not God’s will,” he added.

In the post, he said that although they had fought hard for a place in the quarterfinals and then the final to win the cup, it simply did not happen for one reason: it was not God’s will.

“But it was not God’s will he stressed.

He continued to thank all the people who supported them on this World Cup day, but much more to God because God took care of him, so that’s why he decided to glorify Him regardless of the situation.

“Unfortunately, we did not succeed. It’s going to hurt a lot, for a long time. But thank you for everything God, you have given me everything so I can’t complain. Thank you for taking care of me. All honor and glory to God, no matter what.”

The rest of his posts have been used as a method of venting the pain for the defeat because winning this World Cup was a  dream not only for him but also for his entire country; but in all of them he emphasizes that the achievement was not reached because the Lord wanted it that way.

In different scenarios, Neymar has proclaimed to believe in God and he shows it every chance he gets, one of the most recent proves of his faith was when he spoke out after being injured in one of the games prior to the round of 16.

It is believed that Neymar will reject future call-ups for the Brazil team for the 2026 World Cup.
