4-year-old boy talks about the coming of Christ: “He will return for us”

On the last Monday, the magician and illusionist Pyong Lee shared a video in which his 4-year-old son, Jake, talked about the story of Jesus’s death. As Lee dressed his son, he overheard Jake saying, “Jesus died on the cross”. Lee asked, “Why?”, and Jake replied, “For us. Jesus died on the cross to save us”. Jake went on to explain, “The bad guys nailed Jesus’s hand and then threw him to the ground. And he died and now he’s there in Heaven”. To Lee’s surprise, Jake then said, “And He will come back for us”.

During the same conversation, the child tells Pyong that Jesus will rise again, to which the father explains that Jesus has already done so and is “at the right hand of God”. “He will come back for us, how joyful, right?” asked Pyong, to which Jake responded, “Yes”. Jake asked his father when Jesus would return and he replied, “He didn’t say when, but it will be soon. We need to be prepared, right?”. “Yes, we need to be prepared” replied the child.

The video of Jake on Instagram prompted numerous comments about his expression of the Gospel. “This child not only speaks of Jesus, but expresses the love of God” commented a person on social media. Another wrote, “The way Jake talks about Jesus is touching. It is an intimate and profound way to truly have a close and deep relationship. How beautiful to see this”.

For Pyong, these are conversations with his son that he seldom makes public, but he decided to share them to coincide with the premiere of the fourth season of The Chosen in Brazil. He explained, “I keep many conversations to myself, but I remembered this conversation with my son because today I am going to watch the premiere of the fourth season of The Chosen”. He concluded the post by saying, “Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it”.

Jake is the son of Pyong and the influencer Sammy Sampaio, following Christian principles, something that he always shares on his social media platforms.
