11 He received the sign of circumcision as a seal of the righteousness that comes from the faith he had while he still wasn’t circumcised. It happened this way so that Abraham could be the ancestor of all those people who aren’t circumcised, who have faith in God, and so are counted as righteous.

Abraham was ninety and nine years old, when he circumcised the flesh of his foreskin.


As we have heard, so have we seen, in the city of the Lord of hosts, in the city of our God: God hath founded it for ever.


And the blood shall be unto you for a sign in the houses where you shall be: and I shall see the blood, and shall pass over you. And the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you, when I shall strike the land of Egypt.


Speak to the children of Israel, and thou shalt say to them: See that thou keep my sabbath; because it is a sign between me and you in your generations; that you may know that I am the Lord, who sanctify you.


Between me and the children of Israel, and a perpetual sign. For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth: and in the seventh he ceased from work.


Moreover, I gave them also my sabbaths, to be a sign between me and them: and that they might know that I am the Lord that sanctify them.


And sanctify my sabbaths: that they may be a sign between me and you, and that you may know that I am the Lord your God.


Simon Peter answered and said: Thou art Christ, the Son of the living God.


And I say to you that many shall come from the east and the west, and shall sit down with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven:


Jesus said to him: This day is salvation come to this house, because he also is a son of Abraham.


He that hath received his testimony, hath set to his seal that God is true.


He that believeth in the Son, hath life everlasting; but he that believeth not the Son, shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.


And Jesus said to them: I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall not hunger: and he that believeth in me shall never thirst.


And this is the will of my Father that sent me: that every one who seeth the Son, and believeth in him, may have life everlasting, and I will raise him up in the last day.


Amen, amen I say unto you: He that believeth in me, hath everlasting life.


They answered him: We are the seed of Abraham, and we have never been slaves to any man: how sayest thou: you shall be free?


For the scripture saith: Whosoever believeth in him, shall not be confounded.


For the end of the law is Christ, unto justice to every one that believeth.


But the justice which is of faith, speaketh thus: Say not in thy heart, Who shall ascend into heaven? that is, to bring Christ down;


Even the justice of God, by faith of Jesus Christ, unto all and upon all them that believe in him: for there is no distinction:


Through the forbearance of God, for the shewing of his justice in this time; that he himself may be just, and the justifier of him, who is of the faith of Jesus Christ.


For it is one God, that justifieth circumcision by faith, and uncircumcision through faith.


How then was it reputed? When he was in circumcision, or in uncircumcision? Not in circumcision, but in uncircumcision.


What then shall we say? That the Gentiles, who followed not after justice, have attained to justice, even the justice that is of faith.


As it is written: Behold I lay in Sion a stumblingstone and a rock of scandal; and whosoever believeth in him shall not be confounded.


Not as though the word of God hath miscarried. For all are not Israelites that are of Israel:


Who also hath sealed us, and given the pledge of the Spirit in our hearts.


But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise, by the faith of Jesus Christ, might be given to them that believe.


And if you be Christ's, then are you the seed of Abraham, heirs according to the promise.


Know ye therefore, that they who are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham.


For we in spirit, by faith, wait for the hope of justice.


And whosoever shall follow this rule, peace on them, and mercy, and upon the Israel of God.


In whom you also, after you had heard the word of truth, (the gospel of your salvation;) in whom also believing, you were signed with the holy Spirit of promise,


And grieve not the holy Spirit of God: whereby you are sealed unto the day of redemption.


The Lord thy God will circumcise thy heart, and the heart of thy seed: that then mayst love the Lord thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul, that thou mayst live.


And may be found in him, not having my justice, which is of the law, but that which is of the faith of Christ Jesus, which is of God, justice in faith:


By faith Noe, having received an answer concerning those things which as yet were not seen, moved with fear, framed the ark for the saving of his house, by the which he condemned the world; and was instituted heir of the justice which is by faith.


Simon Peter, servant and apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained equal faith with us in the justice of our God and Saviour Jesus Christ.


And it was commanded them that they should not hurt the grass of the earth, nor any green thing, nor any tree: but only the men who have not the sign of God on their foreheads.
