And alibis children being gathered together to comfort their father in his sorrow, he would not receive comfort, but said: I will go down to my son into hell, mourning. And whilst he continued weeping,


He answered: The days of my pilgrimage are a hundred and thirty years, few, and evil. And they are not come up to the days of the pilgrimage of my fathers.


A glad heart maketh a cheerful countenance: but by grief of mind the spirit is cast down.


The heart of the wise seeketh instruction: and the mouth of fools feedeth on foolishness.


Better is a little with the fear of the Lord, than great treasures without content,


Knowledge is a fountain of life to him that possesseth it: the instruction of fools is foolishness.


A joyful mind maketh age flourishing: a sorrowful spirit drieth up the bones.


And at midnight, Paul and Silas praying, praised God. And they that were in prison, heard them.


Rejoicing in hope. Patient in tribulation. Instant in prayer.


And not only so; but also we glory in God, through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received reconciliation.


For our glory is this, the testimony of our conscience, that in simplicity of heart and sincerity of God, and not in carnal wisdom, but in the grace of God, we have conversed in this world: and more abundantly towards you.


For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us: so also by Christ doth our comfort abound.


As sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; as needy, yet enriching many; as having nothing, and possessing all things.


But if you partake of the sufferings of Christ, rejoice that when his glory shall be revealed, you may also be glad with exceeding joy.
