Have mercy on us, O Lord, have mercy on us: for we are greatly filled with contempt.


A gradual canticle. Behold now bless ye the Lord, all ye servants of the Lord: Who stand in the house of the Lord, in the courts of the house of our God.


Because the Lord will judge his cause, and will afflict them that have afflicted his soul.


And I will give them one heart and one way, that they may fear me all days: and that it may be well with them and with their children after them.


And Jesus knowing their thoughts, said to them: Every kingdom divided against itself shall be made desolate: and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand.


And continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they took their meat with gladness and simplicity of heart;


And after some days, Felix, coming with Drusilla his wife, who was a Jew, sent for Paul, and heard of him the faith, that is in Christ Jesus.


And the multitude of believers had but one heart and one soul: neither did any one say that aught of the things which he possessed, was his own; but all things were common unto them.


For I am not ashamed of the gospel. For it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth, to the Jew first, and to the Greek.


By whom we have received grace and apostleship for obedience to the faith, in all nations, for his name;


For God is my witness, whom I serve in my spirit in the gospel of his Son, that without ceasing I make a commemoration of you;


But what saith the scripture? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart. This is the word of faith, which we preach.


That I should be the minister of Christ Jesus among the Gentiles; sanctifying the gospel of God, that the oblation of the Gentiles may be made acceptable and sanctified in the Holy Ghost.


And I know, that when I come to you, I shall come in the abundance of the blessing of the gospel of Christ.


Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all speak the same thing, and that there be no schisms among you; but that you be perfect in the same mind, and in the same judgment.


Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast and unmoveable; always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.


For the rest, brethren, rejoice, be perfect, take exhortation, be of one mind, have peace; and the God of peace and of love shall be with you.


In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of unbelievers, that the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should not shine unto them.


By the proof of this ministry, glorifying God for the obedience of your confession unto the gospel of Christ, and for the simplicity of your communicating unto them, and unto all.


Which is not another, only there are some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.


In whom you also, after you had heard the word of truth, (the gospel of your salvation;) in whom also believing, you were signed with the holy Spirit of promise,


Wherefore I also, hearing of your faith that is in the Lord Jesus, and of your love towards all the saints,


I therefore, a prisoner in the Lord, beseech you that you walk worthy of the vocation in which you are called,


For your communication in the gospel of Christ from the first day until now.


Wherefore, my dearly beloved, (as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but much more now in my absence,) with fear and trembling work out your salvation.


And I trust in the Lord, that I myself also shall come to you shortly.


For many walk, of whom I have told you often (and now tell you weeping), that they are enemies of the cross of Christ;


But our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, our Lord Jesus Christ,


Therefore, my dearly beloved brethren, and most desired, my joy and my crown; so stand fast in the Lord, my dearly beloved.


That you may walk worthy of God, in all things pleasing; being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God:


Hearing your faith in Christ Jesus, and the love which you have towards all the saints.


But now when Timothy came to us from you, and related to us your faith and charity, and that you have a good remembrance of us always, desiring to see us as we also to see you;


For the rest therefore, brethren, we pray and beseech you in the Lord Jesus, that as you have received from us, how you ought to walk, and to please God, so also you would walk, that you may abound the more.


Which is according to the gospel of the glory of the blessed God, which hath been committed to my trust.


Having faith and a good conscience, which some rejecting have made shipwreck concerning the faith.


I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.


Not defrauding, but in all things shewing good fidelity, that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Savior in all things:


Hearing of thy charity and faith, which thou hast in the Lord Jesus, and towards all the saints:


And the fruit of justice is sown in peace, to them that make peace.


Seeing then that all these things are to be dissolved, what manner of people ought you to be in holy conversation and godliness?


Wherefore, dearly beloved, waiting for these things, be diligent that you may be found before him unspotted and blameless in peace.


Dearly beloved, taking all care to write unto you concerning your common salvation, I was under a necessity to write unto you: to beseech you to contend earnestly for the faith once delivered to the saints.
