And Urias the priest built an altar according to all that king Achaz had commanded from Damascus. So did Urias the priest, until king Achaz came from Damascus.


So Urias the priest did according to all that king Achaz had commanded him.


And Ezechias spoke to the heart of all the Levites that had good understanding, concerning the Lord. And they ate during the seven days of the solemnity, immolating victims of peace-offerings, and praising the Lord the God of their fathers.


He commanded also the people that dwelt in Jerusalem, to give to the priests, and the Levites their portion, that they might attend to the law of the Lord.


For Esdras had prepared his heart to seek the law of the Lord, and to do and to teach in Israel the commandments and judgment.


And thou Esdras, according to the wisdom of thy God, which is in thy hand, appoint judges and magistrates, that may judge all the people that is beyond the river, that is for them who know the law of thy God. Yea and the ignorant teach ye freely.


That thou mayst keep thoughts, and thy lips may preserve instruction. Mind not the deceit of a woman.


Give not thy mouth to cause thy flesh to sin: and say not before the angel: There is no providence: lest God be angry at thy words, and destroy all the works of thy hands.


Who is blind, but my servant? Or deaf, but he to whom I have sent my messengers? Who is blind, but he that is sold? Or who is blind, but the servant of the Lord?


That raise up the word of my servant and perform the counsel of my messengers, who say to Jerusalem: Thou shalt be inhabited; and to the cities of Juda: You shall be built, and I will raise up the wastes thereof.


Therefore thus saith the Lord: If thou wilt be converted, I will convert thee, and thou shalt stand before my face: and if thou wilt separate the precious from the vile, thou shalt be as my mouth. They shall be turned to thee, and thou shalt not be turned to them.


And they said: Come, and let us invent devices against Jeremias, for the law shall not perish from the priest, nor counsel from the wise, nor the word from the prophet. Come, and let us strike him with the tongue, and let us give no heed to all his words.


The priests did not say: Where is the Lord? And they that held the law knew me not, and the pastors transgressed against me, and the prophets prophesied in Baal and followed idols.


Her priests have despised my law and have defiled my sanctuaries: they have put no difference between holy and profane, nor have distinguished between the polluted and the clean, and they have turned away their eyes from my sabbaths: and I was profaned in the midst of them.


Trouble shall come upon trouble, and rumour upon rumour, and they shall seek a vision of the prophet: and the law shall perish from the priest and counsel from the ancients.


My people have been silent, because they had no knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will reject thee, that thou shalt not do the office of priesthood to me: and thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I also will forget thy children.


And may teach the children of Israel all my ordinances which the Lord hath spoken to them by the hand of Moses.


Her prophets are senseless men without faith: her priests have polluted the sanctuary, they have acted unjustly against the law.


And Aggeus the messenger of the Lord, as one of the messengers of the Lord, spoke, saying to the people: I am with you, saith the Lord.


To speak to the priests of the house of the Lord of hosts, and to the prophets, saying: Must I weep in the fifth month, or must I sanctify myself as I have now done for many years?


Behold I send my angel, and he shall prepare the way before my face. And presently the Lord, whom you seek, and the angel of the testament, whom you desire, shall come to his temple. Behold he cometh, saith the Lord of hosts.


If any thing be to be done, Eleazar the priest shall consult the Lord for him. He and all the children of Israel with him, and the rest of the multitude, shall go out and go in at his word.


Amen, amen I say to you, he that receiveth whomsoever I send, receiveth me; and he that receiveth me, receiveth him that sent me.


He said therefore to them again: Peace be to you. As the Father hath sent me, I also send you.


This same following Paul and us, cried out, saying: These men are the servants of the most high God, who preach unto you the way of salvation.


For Christ therefore we are ambassadors, God as it were exhorting by us. For Christ, we beseech you, be reconciled to God.


You despised not, nor rejected: but received me as an angel of God, even as Christ Jesus.


And the priests the sons of Levi shall come, whom the Lord thy God hath chosen to minister to him, and to bless in his name, and that by their word every matter should be decided, and whatsoever is clean or unclean should be judged.


Observe diligently that thou incur not the stroke of the leprosy: but thou shalt do whatsoever the priests of the Levitical race shall teach thee, according to what I have commanded them. And fulfil thou it carefully.


Therefore, he that despiseth these things, despiseth not man, but God, who also hath given his holy Spirit in us.


Wherefore the sin of the young men was exceeding great before the Lord: because they withdrew men from the sacrifice of the Lord.
