And suborn two men, sons of Belial against him: and let them bear false witness that he hath blasphemed God and the king: and then carry him out, and stone him and so let him die.


For they have contrived with one consent: they have made a covenant together against thee,


Saying: Bring forth the blasphemer without the camp: and let them that heard him put their hands upon his head: and let all the people stone him.


And he that blasphemeth the name of the Lord, dying let him die. All the multitude shall stone him, whether he be a native or a stranger. He that blasphemeth the name of the Lord, dying let him die.


The Jews therefore came round about him, and said to him: How long dost thou hold our souls in suspense? If thou be the Christ, tell us plainly.


I and the Father are one.


Jesus answered them: Many good works I have shewed you from my Father; for which of these works do you stone me?


The Jews answered him: We have a law; and according to the law he ought to die, because he made himself the Son of God.


Whereupon therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he did not only break the sabbath, but also said God was his Father, making himself equal to God.


LET every soul be subject to higher powers: for there is no power but from God: and those that are, are ordained of God.


Who being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:
