And Jacob being angry with her answered: Am I as God, who hath deprived thee of the fruit of thy womb?


She said: Let not my lord be angry that I cannot rise up before thee, because it has now happened to me, according to the custom of women. So his careful search was in vain.


And searched all my household stuff? What hast thou found of all the substance of thy house? Lay it here before my brethren, and thy brethren, and let them judge between me and thee.


Behold, his sons came from the field: and hearing what had passed, they were exceeding angry, because he had done a foul thing in Israel, and committed an unlawful act, in ravishing Jacob's daughter.


Cursed be their fury, because it was stubborn: and their wrath because it was cruel. I Will divide them in Jacob, and will scatter them in Israel.


And the man of God was angry with him, and said: If thou hadst smitten five or six or seven times, thou hadst smitten Syria even to utter destruction. But now three times shalt thou smite it.


Naaman was angry and went away, saying: I thought he would have come out to me, and standing would have invoked the name of the Lord his God, and touched with his hand the place of the leprosy, and healed me.


The wicked man fleeth, when no man pursueth: but the just, bold as a lion, shall be without dread.


Moses therefore being very angry said to the Lord: Respect not their sacrifices. Thou knowest that I have not taken of them so much as a young ass at any time: nor have injured any of them.


And making a sedition, they said: Would God we had perished among our brethren before the Lord.


And looking round about on them with anger, being grieved for the blindness of their hearts, he saith to the man: Stretch forth thy hand. And he stretched it forth: and his hand was restored unto him.


Be angry, and sin not. Let not the sun go down upon your anger.


And Jonathan answering Saul his father said: Why shall he die? what hath he done?
