And now my father put a, heavy yoke upon you: but I will add to your yoke. My father beat you with whips: but I will beat you with scorpions.


And there were gathered to him vain men, and children of Belial. And they prevailed against Roboam the son of Solomon: for Roboam was unexperienced, and of a fearful heart, and could not resist them.


Sedecias was one and twenty years old when he began to reign; and he reigned eleven years in Jerusalem.


Joachaz was three and twenty years old when he began to reign; and he reigned three months in Jerusalem.


Joakim was five and twenty years old when he began to reign; and he reigned eleven years in Jerusalem. And he did evil before the Lord his God.


Joachin was eight years old when he began to reign; and he reigned three months and ten days in Jerusalem. And he did evil in the sight of the Lord.


A prince void of prudence shall oppress many by calumny: but he that hateth covetousness, shall prolong his days.


The labour of fools shall afflict them that know not bow to go to the city.


As for my people, their oppressors have stripped them, and women have ruled over them. O my people, they that call thee blessed, the same deceive thee and destroy the way of thy steps.


O house of David, this saith the Lord: Judge ye judgement in the morning, and deliver him that is oppressed by violence out of the hand of the oppressor: lest my indignation go forth like a fire and be kindled, and there be none to quench it, because of the evil of your ways.
