But o to thee, O Lord, Lord, are my eyes: in thee have I put my trust, take not away my soul.


Keep me from the snare, which they have laid for me, and from the stumblingblocks of them that work iniquity.


Let not the Egyptians say, I beseech thee: He craftily brought them out, that he might kill them in the mountains, and destroy them from the earth. Let thy anger cease, and be appeased upon the wickedness of thy people.


Thus shall you speak to Ezechias the king of Juda, saying: Let not thy God deceive thee, in whom thou trustest, saying: Jerusalem shall not be given into the hands of the king of the Assyrians.


And I will protect this city and will save it for my own sake and for the sake of David my servant.


And thou hast said: I shall be a lady for ever. Thou hast not laid these things to thy heart, neither hast thou remembered thy latter end.


For my own sake, for my own sake, will I do it, that I may not be blasphemed: and I will not give my glory to another.


Because they have forsaken me and have profaned this place and have sacrificed therein to strange gods, whom neither they nor their fathers knew, nor the kings of Juda. And they have filled this place with the blood of innocents.


Teth. Her filthiness is on her feet and she hath not remembered her end: she is wonderfully cast down, not having a comforter. Behold, O Lord, my affliction, because the enemy is lifted up.


But the soul that committeth any thing through pride, whether he be born in the land or a stranger (because he hath been rebellious against the Lord) shall be cut off from among his people.


Lest perhaps the inhabitants of the land, out of which thou hast brought us, say: The Lord could not bring them into the land that he promised them, and he hated them: Therefore he brought them out, that he might kill them in the wilderness,


The Chanaanites, and all the inhabitants of the land will hear of it, and being gathered together will surround us and cut off our name from the earth. And what wilt thou do to thy great name?


And the Lord will not forsake his people for his great name's sake: because the Lord hath sworn to make you his people.
