Thou hast been wearied in the multitude of thy ways: yet thou saidst not: I will rest. Thou hast found life of thy hand: therefore thou hast not asked.


Keep thy foot from being bare and thy throat from thirst. But thou saidst: I have lost all hope, I will not do it: for I have loved strangers and I will walk after them.


And he said to me: Son of man: All these bones are the house of Israel: they say: Our bones are dried up, and our hope is lost, and we are cut off.


But the Lord sent a great wind into the sea: and a great tempest was raised in the sea, and the ship was in danger to be broken.


And immediately after the tribulation of those days, the sun shall be darkened and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of heaven shall be moved:


And the third day they cast out with their own hands the tackling of the ship.


And after they had fasted a long time, Paul standing forth in the midst of them, said: You should indeed, O ye men, have hearkened unto me, and not have loosed from Crete, and have gained this harm and loss.


Thrice was I beaten with rods, once I was stoned, thrice I suffered shipwreck, a night and a day I was in the depth of the sea.


That you were at that time without Christ, being aliens from the conversation of Israel, and strangers to the testament, having no hope of the promise, and without God in this world.


For if we believe that Jesus died, and rose again; even so them who have slept through Jesus, will God bring with him.
