And Ahisar, governor of the house: and Adoniram the son of Abda, over the tribute.


And he sent them to Libanus, ten thousand every month by turns, so that two months they were at home. And Adoniram was over this levy.


And king Roboam sent Aduram, who was over the tributes. And the children of Israel stoned him. And he died. And king Roboam made haste to get up into his chariot, and fled into Jerusalem.


And they gathered themselves together against him, and stoned him at the king's commandment in the court of the house of the Lord.


And Moses cried to the Lord, saying: What shall I do to this people? Yet a little more and they will stone me.


And the stout of heart among the valiant shall flee away naked in that day, saith the Lord.


And when all the multitude cried out, and would have stoned them, the glory of the Lord appeared over the tabernacle of the covenant to all the children of Israel.


Then went the officer with the ministers, and brought them without violence; for they feared the people, lest they should be stoned.
