During these events, Caleb, to restrain the murmuring of the people who rose up against Moses, said, "Let us ascend and possess the land, for we will be able to obtain it."


a people great and lofty, the sons of the Anakim, whom you yourselves have seen and heard, against whom no one is able to stand.


And they worshiped the dragon, who gave authority to the beast. And they worshiped the beast, saying: "Who is like the beast? And who would be able to fight with it?"


And David said to Saul: "Your servant was pasturing the flock of his father. And there approached a lion or a bear, and it took a ram from the midst of the flock.


And when the Philistine had seen and considered David, he despised him. For he was a youth, ruddy and of handsome appearance.


And the king said, "You shall inquire as to whose son this boy may be."
