Thou shalt not make to thyself a graven thing, nor the likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or in the earth beneath, nor of those things that are in the waters under the earth.
And I sent to you all my servants the prophets, rising early and sending, and saying: Do not commit this abominable thing which I hate.
I am the Lord your God. You shall not make to yourselves any idol or graven thin: neither shall you erect pillars, nor set up a remarkable stone in your land, to adore it. For I am the Lord your God.
