Go, and say to my servant David: Thus saith the Lord: Shalt thou build me a house to dwell in?
And had commanded him concerning this thing, that he should not follow strange gods. But he kept not the things which the Lord commanded him.
And if thou wilt walk in my ways, and keep my precepts, and my commandments, as thy father walked, I will lengthen thy days.
Now therefore, O Lord God of Israel, keep with thy servant David my father what thou hast spoken to him, saying: There shall not be taken away of thee a man in my sight, to sit on the throne of Israel; yet so that thy children take heed to their way, that they walk before me as thou hast walked in my sight.
He shall build a house to my name. And he shall be a son to me. And I will be a father to him. And I will establish the throne of his kingdom over Israel for ever.
And thou, my son Solomon, know the God of thy father, and serve him with a perfect heart, and a willing mind. For the Lord searcheth all hearts, and understandeth all the thoughts of minds. If thou seek him, thou shalt find him: but if thou forsake him, he will cast thee off for ever.
For if you will order well your ways and your doings: if you will execute judgement between a man and his neighbor;
Thus saith the Lord of hosts: If thou wilt walk in my ways, and Beep my charge, thou also shalt judge my house, and shalt keep my courts, and I will give thee some of them that are now present here to walk with thee.
