3 For we ourselves were also once foolish, disobedient, being deceived, being enslaved to various lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another.

"But he answered and said, 'I will not,' but later he regretted it and went.


And He said: "Take heed that you not be deceived. For many will come in My name, saying, 'I AM,' and, 'The time has drawn near.' Therefore do not go after them.


Jesus answered them, "Most assuredly I say to you, that everyone that practices sin is a slave of sin.


For just as you once were disobedient to God, but now you were shown mercy through their disobedience,


Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body, that you should obey it in its lusts,


But thanks be to God, that though you used to be slaves of sin, yet you obeyed from your heart that form of doctrine to which you were delivered.


But now having been freed from sin, and having become enslaved to God, you have your fruit resulting in sanctification, and the outcome, eternal life.


knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, so that the body of sin may be done away with, that we should no longer serve sin.


For I am afraid, lest perhaps when I come, I will not find you as I desire, and that I will be found by you as you do not desire; lest perhaps there be contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, disputes, slanders, gossipings, pride, disorders;


For if anyone thinks that he is something, when he is nothing, he deceives himself.


And you, who once were alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now He has reconciled


in which you yourselves once walked when you lived in them.


But evil men and impostors shall advance worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived.


For of these are those who creep into houses and captivate gullible women having been loaded down with sins, who are led by various lusts,


They profess to know God, but in their works they deny Him, being abominable, disobedient, and disqualified for every good work.


teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age,


If anyone among you thinks he is religious, and does not bridle his tongue but deceiving his heart, the religion of this man is useless.


as obedient children, not fashioning yourselves after the former lusts, as you did in your ignorance;


And the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.


And he deceives my own people who dwell on the earth by the signs which were given to him to do before the Beast, saying to those who dwell on the earth to make an image to the beast who had the wound--and came to life! -from the sword.


And he cried out with a strong voice, saying, "Babylon the great has fallen, and she has become a dwelling place of demons, a prison for every unclean spirit, and a cage for every unclean and detestable bird!
