3 For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself too highly, beyond what you should think, but to think soberly, as God has imparted to each one a measure of faith.

The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, 'God, I thank You that I am not like other men--swindlers, unjust, adulterers, or even like this tax collector.


For He whom God has sent speaks the words of God, for God does not give the Spirit by measure.


through whom we received grace and apostleship for obedience of faith among all the nations for His name,


Well said. By unbelief they were broken off, but you stand by faith. Do not be arrogant, but fear.


For I do not desire you to be ignorant, brothers, of this mystery, lest you be wise in your own opinion, that blindness in part has happened to Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in.


Be of the same mind toward one another. Not minding the high things, but associating with the humble. Do not become wise in your own opinion.


But by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace toward me was not in vain; but I labored more abundantly than them all, yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.


According to the grace of God which was given to me, as a wise architect I have laid the foundation, but another builds on it. But let each one take heed how he builds on it.


Otherwise as God has distributed to each one, as the Lord has called each one, so let him walk. And so I command in all the churches.


But we will not boast beyond limits, but according to the measure of the sphere of influence which God assigned us as a measure, to reach even as far as you.


For what is it in which you were inferior to other churches, except that I myself did not burden you? Forgive me this wrong!


And lest I exalt myself above measure by the excellence of the revelations, a thorn in the flesh was given to me, an angel of Satan, that it might beat me, lest I exalt myself above measure.


For if anyone thinks that he is something, when he is nothing, he deceives himself.


if indeed you have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which was given to me for you,


with reference to which, when you read, you can understand my insight in the mystery of Christ,


from whom the whole body, being fitted and held together by what every joint supplies, according to the working of the measure of each individual part, causes the growth of the body for the edification of itself in love.


for it is God who is working in you, both to will and to do for His good pleasure.


for which I also labor, striving according to His working which is working in me with power.


And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He made you alive together with Him, having forgiven us all our trespasses,


and the grace of our Lord superabounded with faith and love which is in Christ Jesus.


Nevertheless she shall be saved through childbirth, if they remain in faith and love, and sanctification, with self-control.


Likewise also that the women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with propriety and discretion, not with braids or gold or pearls or expensive clothing,


teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age,


Older men are to be sober, serious, temperate, sound in the faith, in love, in endurance.


so that they may urge the young women to be lovers of their husbands, lovers of their children,


Likewise exhort the young men to be sensible,


But He gives more grace. Therefore He says: "God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble."


Therefore gird up the loins of your mind, stay sober, put your hope fully in the grace brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;


If anyone speaks, let him speak as the utterances of God. If anyone serves, let him serve as from strength, as God supplies, so that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom is the glory and the power forever and ever. Amen.


Now the end of all things is at hand; therefore be of sound mind and self-controlled in your prayers.


Likewise, younger people, subject yourselves to the elders. And all of you be subject to one another, and be clothed with humility, because "God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble."


Be sober, be watchful; your adversary the devil walks about as a roaring lion, seeking someone he may devour.


I wrote to the church, but Diotrephes, who loves the preeminence over them, does not receive us.
