11 I say then, have they stumbled that they should fall? Certainly not! But by their transgression, salvation has come to the Gentiles, to provoke them to jealousy.

Now as the Jews were going out of the synagogue, the Gentiles begged that these words might be spoken to them the next Sabbath.


But because they were opposing and blaspheming, he shook off his clothes and said to them, "Your blood be on your head; I am clean. From now on I will go to the Gentiles."


But I say, did Israel not know? First Moses says: "I will provoke you to jealousy by those who are not a nation, by an unintelligent nation I will anger you."


I say then, has God cast away His people? Certainly not! For I too am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin.


But if their transgression is the riches of the world, and their defeat is the riches of the Gentiles, how much more their fullness!


if somehow I may provoke to jealousy my fellow Jews, and I may save some of them.


even so these now were disobedient, that through the mercy shown you they also might be shown mercy.
