14 But I have a few things against you, because you have there some who hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balak to cast a stumbling block before the sons of Israel, both to eat things sacrificed to idols, and to commit fornication.

Woe to the world because of offenses! For offenses must come, but woe to that man through whom the offense comes!


that you abstain from meat offered to idols, and from blood, and from anything strangled, and from fornication; from which keeping yourselves back, you will do well. Farewell.


But concerning the Gentiles having believed, we wrote, having judged that they should keep no such thing, except that they should keep themselves from things offered to idols, from blood, and from anything strangled, and from fornication."


And David says: "Let their table become a snare and a trap, a stumbling block and a recompense to them.


Therefore let us no longer judge one another, but judge this rather, not to put a stumbling block or an offense before our brother.


It is good neither to eat meat nor drink wine nor to do anything by which your brother stumbles or is offended or becomes weak.


Why? Because they did not seek it by faith, but as it were, by the works of the law. For they stumbled at that stone of stumbling.


but we preach Christ crucified, to the Jews a stumbling block, and to the Greeks foolishness,


Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let each man have his own wife, and let each woman have her own husband.


Marriage is honorable among all, and the bed undefiled; but fornicators and adulterers God will judge.


and "a stone of stumbling and a rock of offense." They stumble, being disobedient to the word, to which they also were appointed.


They have left behind the straight way and gone astray, having followed after the way of Balaam the son of Bosor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness;


Woe to them! For they have gone in the way of Cain, and in the error of Balaam they have rushed for profit, and have perished in the rebellion of Korah.


But I have this against you, that you tolerate your wife Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess, to teach and seduce My servants to commit fornication and eat things sacrificed to idols.


Nevertheless I have this against you, that you have left your first love.


But the cowardly, and unbelieving, and sinners, and abominable, and murderers, and fornicators, and drug users, and idolaters, and all who are false shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death."


But outside are dogs and drug users and fornicators and murderers and idolaters, and everyone who loves and practices a lie.
