31 And He began to teach them that it was necessary for the Son of Man to suffer many things, and to be rejected by the elders and the chief priests and the scribes, and to be killed, and after three days to rise.

For just as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of the great fish, so will the Son of Man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.


Jesus said to them, "Have you never read in the Scriptures: 'The stone which the builders rejected has become the chief cornerstone. This was the LORD's doing, and it is marvelous in our eyes'?


saying, "Sir, we remember that that deceiver said while He was still alive, 'After three days I will rise.'


Have you not even read this Scripture: 'The stone which the builders rejected Has become the chief cornerstone.


But first He must suffer many things and be rejected by this generation.


Ought not the Christ to have suffered these things and to enter into His glory?"


Then He said to them, "These are the words which I spoke to you while I was still with you, that all things must be fulfilled which were written in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms concerning Me."


He that rejects Me, and does not receive My words, has that which judges him--the word which I spoke, that word will judge him in the last day.


Jesus answered and said to them, "Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up."


This Moses whom they denied, saying, 'Who appointed you a ruler and a judge?' This man God sent as a ruler and redeemer by the hand of the Angel who appeared to him in the bush.


and that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures,
