48 Then He saw them straining at rowing, for the wind was against them. Now about the fourth watch of the night He came to them walking on the sea, and He intended to pass by them.

But the boat was now in the middle of the sea, being harassed by the waves, for the wind was against them.


But know this, that if the master of the house had known in what hour the thief was coming, he would have kept watch, and he would not have allowed his house to be broken into.


Watch therefore, for you do not know when the master of the house is coming--at evening, or at midnight, or at dawn, or early in the morning--


Now when it was evening, the boat was in the middle of the sea; and He was alone on the land.


And seeing Him walking on the sea, they supposed Him to be a spirit, and they cried out;


And if he comes in the second watch, or comes in the third watch, and find them so, blessed are those servants.


Then they drew near to the village where they were going, and He made as though He was going farther.
