24 And the disciples were astonished at His words. But Jesus, answering again, says to them, "Children, how difficult it is for those who trust in riches to enter into the kingdom of God!

And when His disciples heard, they were greatly astonished, saying, "Who then is able to be saved?"


Then they were all amazed, so that they were disputing among themselves, saying, "What is this? What new doctrine is this, that He commands even the unclean spirits with authority, and they obey Him?"


And looking around, Jesus says to His disciples, "How difficult it is for those having riches to enter the kingdom of God!"


Now the Pharisees, who were lovers of money, were hearing all these things, and they were mocking Him.


Little children, yet a little while I am with you. You will seek Me; and as I said to the Jews, 'Where I am going, you cannot come,' so now I say to you.


Then Jesus said to them, "Children, have you any food?" They answered Him, "No."


Therefore many of His disciples, when they heard this, said, "This is a hard saying; who can hear it?"


My little children, for whom I labor in birth again until Christ is formed in you!


Command those who are rich in this present age not to be haughty, nor to put their hope on the uncertainty of riches, but in the living God, who provides all things richly for us to enjoy,


My little children, these things I write to you, that you may not sin. And if someone should sin, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.


You are of God, little children, and you have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.


Little children, guard yourselves from idols. Amen.


Because you say, 'I am wealthy, and have become rich, and have need of nothing'--and do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked,
