26 And look! He is speaking publicly, and they say nothing to Him. Can it be that the rulers know indeed that this is truly the Christ?

And they sent their disciples to Him with the Herodians, saying, "Teacher, we know that You are true, and teach the way of God in truth; nor do You show favoritism to anyone.


And Pilate, having called together the chief priests, the rulers, and the people,


But the Pharisees and lawyers rejected the counsel of God for themselves, because they had not been baptized by him.


Nevertheless even from among the rulers many believed in Him, but because of the Pharisees they did not confess Him, lest they should be excommunicated;


Jesus answered him, "I spoke openly to the world. I always taught in synagogues and in the temple, where the Jews always come together, and in secret I spoke nothing.


Now there was a man of the Pharisees whose name was Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews.


Come, see a Man who told me everything I ever did. Could this be the Christ?"


Therefore some of people of Jerusalem were saying, "Is this not He whom they are seeking to kill?


But many of the crowd believed in Him, and were saying, "When the Christ comes, will He do more signs than these which this Man did?"


Have any of the rulers or the Pharisees believed in Him?


These things his parents said because they feared the Jews, for the Jews had agreed already that if anyone should confess that He was Christ, he would be excommunicated.


Now when they observed the boldness of Peter and John, and understood that they were uneducated and untrained men, they marveled. And they recognized that they had been with Jesus.


and most of the brothers in the Lord, having been persuaded by my chains, are much more bold to speak the word fearlessly.
