21 So having threatened them further, they released them, finding no way of punishing them, on account of the people, because they all were glorifying God over that which had occurred.

So the multitude marveled when they saw the mute speaking, the maimed made whole, the lame walking, and the blind seeing; and they glorified the God of Israel.


And seeking to seize Him, they feared the crowds, since they considered Him as a prophet.


But they said, "Not during the feast, lest a disturbance take place among the people."


And when the demon was cast out, the mute spoke. And the crowds marveled, saying, "It was never seen like this in Israel!"


Now when the crowds saw, they marveled and glorified God, who had given such authority to men.


And when He said these things, all His adversaries were put to shame; and all the crowd was rejoicing over all the glorious things which were done by Him.


And the chief priests and the scribes sought to lay hands on Him that very hour, but they were afraid--for they knew that He had spoken this parable against them.


But if we say, 'From men,' all the people will stone us, for they are persuaded that John was a prophet."


And the chief priests and the scribes were seeking how they might kill Him, for they feared the people.


And amazement gripped them all, and they were glorifying God, and they were filled with fear, saying, "We have seen extraordinary things today!"


But lest it be spread further among the people, let us threaten them with a threat, to speak no longer in this name."


For the man was over forty, on whom had come about this sign of healing.


But none of the rest dared join them, but the people were magnifying them.


Then the captain went with the officers and brought them without violence, for they were afraid of the people, lest they be stoned.


And they were persuaded by him, and when they called the apostles and beaten them, they commanded that they should not speak in the name of Jesus, and released them.
