7 And having gone over from there, he went into the house of a certain man named Justus, who worshipped God, whose house was next door to the synagogue.

Now we know that God does not hear sinners; but if anyone is God-fearing and does His will, He hears him.


a devout man, and one that feared God, together with all his household, who often gave alms to the people, and making petition to God always.


And they said, "Cornelius the centurion, a just man, and fearing God, having a good reputation among all the nation of the Jews, was given a revelation by a holy angel to send for you to his house, and to hear words from you."


Now as the Jews were going out of the synagogue, the Gentiles begged that these words might be spoken to them the next Sabbath.


And when the synagogue service was broken up, many of the Jews and of the devout proselytes followed Paul and Barnabas, who, speaking to them, persuaded them to continue in the grace of God.


But the Jews incited the devout and prominent women and the leading men of the city, raised up a persecution against Paul and Barnabas, and cast them out from their borders.


And a certain woman named Lydia, a dealer of purple cloth of the city of Thyatira, who worshipped God, heard us, whose heart the Lord opened to give heed to the things spoken by Paul.


And some of them were persuaded and were joined with Paul and Silas, both of the devout Greeks, a great multitude, and not a few of the chief women.


and Jesus who is called Justus. These alone are my fellow workers for the kingdom of God who are of the circumcision; they have proved to be a comfort to me.
