17 And motioning to them with his hand to be silent, he related to them how the Lord had led him out of the prison. And he said, "Tell these things to James and to the brothers." And going out, he went to another place.

But whenever they persecute you in this city, flee to another. For assuredly I say to you, by no means will you have gone through the cities of Israel before the Son of Man comes.


Is this not the carpenter, the Son of Mary, and brother of James, Joses, Judas, and Simon? And are not His sisters here with us?" And they were offended at Him.


But having come out, he was unable to speak to them; and they recognized that he had seen a vision in the temple, for he was making signs to them and remained speechless.


And He went away again beyond the Jordan to the place where John was first baptizing, and He stayed there.


Therefore Jesus no longer walked openly among the Jews, but He went away from there into the country near the desert, to a city called Ephraim, and there He stayed with His disciples.


Simon Peter therefore motioned to him to inquire who it might be about whom He was speaking.


And after these things Jesus was walking in Galilee; for He did not wish to walk in Judea, because the Jews were seeking to kill Him.


Therefore they picked up stones to throw at Him; but Jesus hid Himself and went out of the temple, having gone through their midst, and so passed by.


And in those days Peter, rising up in the midst of the disciples (altogether the number of names was about a hundred and twenty), said,


But Peter was continuing knocking; and opening the door they saw him, and were astounded.


And becoming day, there was no small disturbance among the soldiers, as to what had become of Peter.


And Paul, arising and motioning with his hand, said, "Men, Israelites, and you who fear God, listen:


Now after they had finished speaking, James answered, saying, "Men and brothers, listen to me:


And coming out from the prison, they entered into the house of Lydia; and seeing the brothers, they encouraged them and departed.


And from the crowd they brought forward Alexander, the Jews putting him forward. And Alexander motioned with his hand, and desired to make a defense to the people.


On the next day Paul was going in with us to James, and all the elders were present.


And permitting him, Paul stood on the stairs and motioned with his hand to the people. And when there was a great silence, he addressed them in the Hebrew language, saying,


And from there the brothers, when they heard about our circumstances, they came to meet with us as far as Appii Forum and Three Inns, whom when Paul saw, he gave thanks to God and took courage.


Thereafter He appeared to James, then to all the apostles.


But I saw none of the other apostles except James, the brother of the Lord.


For before certain men came from James, he would eat together with the Gentiles; but when they came, he began to draw back and began to separate himself, fearing those of the circumcision party.


and when James, Cephas, and John, who seemed to be pillars, perceived the grace which was given to me, they gave me and Barnabas their right hands of fellowship, that we should go to the Gentiles and they to the circumcised;


James, a bondservant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the twelve tribes which are scattered abroad: Greetings.
