7 and not only by his coming, but also by the consolation with which he was comforted over you, as he reported to us your earnest longing, your mourning, your zeal for me, so that I rejoiced even more.

And Peter remembered the word of Jesus which He said to him, "Before the rooster crows, you will deny Me three times." And going out, he wept bitterly.


Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.


And being in agony, He prayed more fervently. Then His sweat became like great drops of blood falling down onto the ground.


who, arriving and seeing the grace of God, was glad, and encouraged them all with purpose of heart to continue with the Lord,


that is, that I may be encouraged together among you through the mutual faith both of you and me.


And you are puffed up, and have not rather grieved, so that he who did this deed would be removed from your midst.


just as also you have understood us in part, that we are your boasting, as indeed you also are ours, in the day of the Lord Jesus.


who comforts us in all our tribulation, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, by means of the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.


For to this end I also wrote, so that I might put you to the test, to see if you are obedient in all things.


For also in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed with our habitation which is from heaven,


Nevertheless God, who comforts the downcast, comforted us by the coming of Titus,


Because even if I made you sorry in the letter, I do not regret it, even if I did regret it. For I perceive that the same letter made you sorry, though only for a season.


But thanks be to God who puts the same earnest care for you in the heart of Titus.


according to my earnest expectation and hope that in nothing I will be ashamed, but with utmost boldness, as always, now also Christ will be magnified in my body, whether by life or by death.


For though indeed I am absent in the flesh, yet I am with you in spirit, rejoicing to see your orderliness and the steadfastness of your faith in Christ.


But now when Timothy came to us from you, and brought good news to us of your faith and your love, and that you have good remembrance of us always, longing to see us, as we also long to see you--


Because now we live, if you stand firm in the Lord.


On account of this we must give the more earnest heed to the things we have heard, lest we drift away.


Elijah was a man of similar nature to us, and with a prayer, he prayed earnestly for it not to rain, and it did not rain upon the land for three years and six months.


I rejoiced greatly that I have found some of your children walking in truth, just as we received commandment from the Father.


Beloved, while I was very diligent to write to you about our common salvation, it became necessary to write to you exhorting you to earnestly contend for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints.
