Is this not the carpenter's son? Is not His mother called Mary? And His brothers James, Joses, Simon, and Jude?


Now when Jesus had come into Peter's house, He saw his wife's mother having been laid up, and burning with fever.


And the mother-in-law of Simon was lying down burning with fever, and immediately they spoke to Him about her.


Is this not the carpenter, the Son of Mary, and brother of James, Joses, Judas, and Simon? And are not His sisters here with us?" And they were offended at Him.


Matthew and Thomas; James the son of Alphaeus, and Simon called the Zealot;


And it was told Him by some, who said, "Your mother and Your brothers are standing outside, desiring to see You."


And he led him to Jesus. Now when Jesus looked at him, He said, "You are Simon the son of Jonah. You shall be called Cephas" (which is translated, A Stone).


After this He went down to Capernaum, He, His mother, His brothers, and His disciples; and there they remained not many days.


These were continuing with one mind in prayer and petition, together with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with His brothers.


I commend to you Phoebe our sister, who is a servant of the church in Cenchrea,


Now I say this, that each of you says, "I am of Paul," and "I of Apollos," and "I of Cephas," and "I of Christ."


But if the unbelieving spouse separates, let him or her separate; the brother or the sister has not been bound in such cases; but God has called us to peace.


A wife has been bound by law as long as her husband lives; but if her husband also dies, she is free to be married to whom she desires, only in the Lord.


For I wish that all men would be as I myself. But each one has his own gift from God, one in this way and another in that.


But I say to the unmarried and to the widows: It is good for them if they should remain as I also remain;


But I saw none of the other apostles except James, the brother of the Lord.


It is necessary, therefore, for a bishop to be irreproachable, the husband of one wife, temperate, sober-minded, well-behaved, hospitable, skillful at teaching;


forbidding to marry, commanding to abstain from foods which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who are believers and have come to know the truth.

if a man is unimpeachable, the husband of one wife, having faithful children not accused of dissipation or who are insubordinate.


Marriage is honorable among all, and the bed undefiled; but fornicators and adulterers God will judge.
