5 Now I wish you all spoke in tongues, but even more that you should prophesy; for he who prophesies is greater than he who speaks in tongues, unless he interprets, so that the church may receive edification.

to another the working of miracles, and to another prophecy, and to another discerning of spirits, and to another different kinds of tongues, and to another interpretation of tongues.


Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become as sounding brass or a clashing cymbal.


Love is patient, love is kind; love does not envy; love does not boast, is not puffed up;


Pursue love, and desire the spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophesy.


For you indeed give thanks well, but the other is not edified.
