I declare that your steadfast love is established forever; your faithfulness is as firm as the heavens.


It is an abomination to kings to do evil, for the throne is established by righteousness.


Loyalty and faithfulness preserve the king, and his throne is upheld by righteousness.


take away the wicked from the presence of the king, and his throne will be established in righteousness.


A ruler who lacks understanding is a cruel oppressor; but one who hates unjust gain will enjoy a long life.


By justice a king gives stability to the land, but one who makes heavy exactions ruins it.


learn to do good; seek justice, rescue the oppressed, defend the orphan, plead for the widow.


but with righteousness he shall judge the poor, and decide with equity for the meek of the earth; he shall strike the earth with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips he shall kill the wicked.


He judged the cause of the poor and needy; then it was well. Is not this to know me? says the Lord.

Therefore, O king, may my counsel be acceptable to you: atone for your sins with righteousness, and your iniquities with mercy to the oppressed, so that your prosperity may be prolonged.”
