You say, ‘I am clean, without transgression; I am pure, and there is no iniquity in me.


For Job has said, ‘I am innocent, and God has taken away my right;


“Do you think this to be just? You say, ‘I am in the right before God.’


Will you even put me in the wrong? Will you condemn me that you may be justified?


The young man said to him, “I have kept all these; what do I still lack?”


But wanting to justify himself, he asked Jesus, “And who is my neighbor?”


The Pharisee, standing by himself, was praying thus, ‘God, I thank you that I am not like other people: thieves, rogues, adulterers, or even like this tax collector.


For, being ignorant of the righteousness that comes from God, and seeking to establish their own, they have not submitted to God's righteousness.


When Samuel came to Saul, Saul said to him, “May you be blessed by the Lord; I have carried out the command of the Lord.”


Now go and attack Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they have; do not spare them, but kill both man and woman, child and infant, ox and sheep, camel and donkey.’ ”


He took King Agag of the Amalekites alive, but utterly destroyed all the people with the edge of the sword.


Because you did not obey the voice of the Lord, and did not carry out his fierce wrath against Amalek, therefore the Lord has done this thing to you today.
