Then I called on the name of the Lord: “O Lord, I pray, save my life!”


For you have delivered my soul from death, my eyes from tears, my feet from stumbling.


“Deliver me, O Lord, from lying lips, from a deceitful tongue.”


The Lord will keep you from all evil; he will keep your life.


How long must I bear pain in my soul, and have sorrow in my heart all day long? How long shall my enemy be exalted over me?


Rise up, O Lord, confront them, overthrow them! By your sword deliver my life from the wicked,


Deliver my soul from the sword, my life from the power of the dog!


Do not remember the sins of my youth or my transgressions; according to your steadfast love remember me, for your goodness' sake, O Lord!


But as for me, my prayer is to you, O Lord. At an acceptable time, O God, in the abundance of your steadfast love, answer me. With your faithful help


How long, O God, is the foe to scoff? Is the enemy to revile your name forever?


How long, O Lord? Will you be angry forever? Will your jealous wrath burn like fire?


Turn again, O God of hosts; look down from heaven, and see; have regard for this vine,


For great is your steadfast love toward me; you have delivered my soul from the depths of Sheol.


Turn, O Lord! How long? Have compassion on your servants!


Surely it was for my welfare that I had great bitterness; but you have held back my life from the pit of destruction, for you have cast all my sins behind your back.


Incline your ear, O my God, and hear. Open your eyes and look at our desolation and the city that bears your name. We do not present our supplication before you on the ground of our righteousness, but on the ground of your great mercies.


Ever since the days of your ancestors you have turned aside from my statutes and have not kept them. Return to me, and I will return to you, says the Lord of hosts. But you say, “How shall we return?”
