The evil are ensnared by the transgression of their lips, but the righteous escape from trouble.


The mouths of fools are their ruin, and their lips a snare to themselves.


My child, if you have given your pledge to your neighbor, if you have bound yourself to another,


So do this, my child, and save yourself, for you have come into your neighbor's power: go, hurry, and plead with your neighbor.


The images of their gods you shall burn with fire. Do not covet the silver or the gold that is on them and take it for yourself, because you could be ensnared by it; for it is abhorrent to the Lord your God.
